On the morning of your excursion, you will be collected from your hotel and we’ll drive you by air-conditioned minivan to your pier in Bangrak, near the Big buddha. Be sure to eat lightly at the hotel in the morning to take advantage of our gourmet food onboard your vessel.
At the pier, you’ll explore the boat a little and learn about the day ahead and meet the team with a welcome drink. Our magical 54-ton, 99ft yacht will be raring to go and at around 9.00 am we will set sail and the adventure begins.
Onboard you can soak up the sun on-deck and enjoy some tea, wine or whiskey. The boat is spacious, comfortable and luxurious and the crew will cater for your every need. There are lots of places to hang out on the boat depending on if you want to sit inside or outside.
Once at the marine park, we will first visit Koh Mae Koh and the amazing Emerald inland sea. Here you can get some exercise with a short trek and admire this unique landscape feature before we move on.
On our boat the food is just as important as the destination. Lunch on board will be extravagant, delicious and plentiful. The crew are there to make sure you relax and recharge as well as have fun – so don’t hold back and fill yourself! Everything you need is catered for. Guides, drinks, food and supreme comfort all help to make the day a truly memorable one.
In the afternoon, the second stop will be either Koh Wu Tua lab or Koh Sam Sao depending on the weather. On these islands, you can explore, hike, snorkel, swim or sunbathe to your heart’s content.
After your fun and adventure at the Angthong marine park is complete at around 3.00 pm, the boat will about turn and you will start the journey home. On the way back, there are more local delicacies, snacks and treats to sample.
As you see out the day nearing Koh Samui on our luxurious Asian Junk boat, you will feel a timeless sense of accomplishment and wonder which many explorers have experienced before through the ages. We have no doubt that the boat, the truly stunning marine park and the kind, friendly local team who travel together with you, will all help make this trip the highlight of your holiday.
.
Altogether there are 42 islands which make up the archipelago of Koh Samui but Ang Thong itself means “golden basin”. It gets its name from the natural wonder and green lagoon on the island Koh Mae Koh, which we will visit as part of this trip.
This 100-square kilometre marine preservation area is the jewel in the crown of the Gulf of Thailand. As one of the best day trips from Koh Samui, this natural wonder is just an hour and a half away. Not too far and not too near, as the cruise and journey there is half the fun.
