Fun safari day tour with a sunset finish

Don’t miss out on our unique safari tour that focuses on local culture and nature. You’re in for a treat experiencing the real authenticity of the island! We start in the afternoon and finish with a sunset at Nathon, the sleepy local government town and fishing community. Other tours focus on the popular attractions easily found on the beach road, but this excursion offers a unique trip to more peaceful temples and areas of Koh Samui. The south and west parts of the island are still rural with a much slower pace of life compared to the bigger beaches and touristic areas of the north and east. What’s more, where we finish for the day has a sunset over the sea—a sight unseen on the busier more commercial side of the island.

Highlights

We start the day with a midday pick up from your Koh Samui hotel between 11:30am and 12:30pm, depending on your hotel’s location. We’ll travel by air conditioned minibus. For the first attraction, we’ll head to the grandfather and grandmother rocks.

Next, we drive to the Chinese Guan Yu statue for another bit of history where we learn about this important character for Chinese history. Your guide will also explain more about the seafaring and trading influence of the Chinese on Koh Samui.

After a trip to a hidden local temple off the tourist trail, it’s just the right time for a trip to the waterfall to cool down. After a quick dip or a nice breath of fresh forest air at the falls, an early dinner awaits where you’ll be treated to a full spread of the best that Thai food can offer. You’ll then visit a coconut handicrafts centre to learn how craftsmen make daily objects from the local resources surrounding them in Koh Samui. The coconut trees of this part of the world have many uses, and here, you will see just a few of them.

This trip will wind down with a visit to a beautiful, tranquil temple which is relatively unvisited by tourists but much loved by the local people of Koh Samui. It’s hard to find and off-the-beaten track, but once you discover this enchanting place, it will certainly stick in the memory.

Your evening tour will end with a great sunset in Nathon town and a transfer back to your hotel, where you will arrive around 7:00pm.
